My name is Lianimal but I also have a lot of nicknames such as Teagan (my facebook alias), Fairy Queen (I run Fairy Con which is coming up on October 1st ), Pastie Fairy (I was the secret fairy that put pasties in everyone’s pocket in the message board in 2009) and I think that is about it! You can call me whichever you want although most people just call me Lianimal.

I have been Kostume Kult’s Director of Finance for the past two years. I have also organized KK’s efforts at Figment for the past three years and I have helped with various parties over the years in different ways. This will be my fourth year at Burning Man and the third camping with KK. I get even more giddy about Burning Man than some of the virgins because I know what to expect and I absolutely LOVE Burning Man!!

I ended up at Burning Man and KK for the first time after meeting KK at the Mermaid Parade in 2007. I had no real plan on going since I didn’t even know what BM was really about. I thought it was a bunch of orgies and that’s it. After Mermaid Parade, I was traveled to California on this awesome bus called the Green Tortoise and I partied on the west coast for a bunch of weeks. I came back to NY and I missed the west coast and I was thinking that since I was starting my current boring job that I should do as much partying as possible and decided to back to the west coast and to go to Burning Man at the last possible minute. I had no idea what to expect and just went there knowing basically no one except the few KKers I had briefly met at Mermaid Parade. It was awesome!! I had soo much fun that first year – it changed my perspective and life.

I seriously did not want to come back to NY at all that first year. I was starting my first job after college and I knew it was going to be boring since my major was accounting and I had seen Burning Man for the first time and it was sooo incredibly magical. However, burners told me that there was a big burning man community in NY and you could sort of always have a burning man experience in NY. It was true! I had a great time the whole next year with KK. I didn’t camp with them the second year - I wanted to try out something different and was really disappointed and like Gearoid said we spent a lot of time at the KK camp.

When I am not doing Burning Man and KK related stuff, I cycle all over the city (I learned to cycle at BM in 2007!!), I practice jujitsu with Gearoid and I work in an accounting firm. I design and make my own costumes and clothes. I am also for hire and can design and make your costumes! I can also answer any questions that you might have about making costumes, el wire, fur, etc. since I’m totally obsessed with this stuff!! I cannot wait to see everyone ON PLAYA!!
