New residential development within Tigard has remained steady over the past 12 years. New dwelling units are shown by table 2-4 within the community receiving a certificate-of-occupancy (CofO) permit from the Building Division. Single family domiciles, which attached and include free standing, soaked to a low of 187 in 2002 and struck a top of 335 products in 1995. The quantity made went above 300 in 2005 for the very first time since 1996. Multi-family properties haven't been as in line with four decades (1994, 1996, 2000, 2005) providing 89% of the multi-family models over the 12 year period. The entire density of residential building is 6.8 dwelling units per acre since 1994, with single family houses at 5.9 and multi-family at 18.9 dwelling units per acre.

As residential construction in Tigard New commercial construction isn't as commonplace or constant. 1994 to 1996 remains probably the most reliable period. Seeking beyond new units constructed, total worth of all permits issued provides another sense of design activity in the neighborhood. The totals include other miscellaneous work, alterations, upgrades, base work, fire safety systems, and new development.

Industrial worth hit a reduced in 2002 and peaked in 2,000. Last year saw the second greatest value in the 12 year period at around $60 million. The sole year to see industrial valuation higher than residential was 1998.

Total housing units in the Town of Tigard totaled 19,415 at the conclusion of April 2006. Single and multi-family units are included by this total.
