I've found the best toys for 7 year old boys are challenging, inventive, somewhat scientific, and educational -- all attributes that are present inside Perplexus Epic; an assorted ball of intricate mazes and puzzles. It includes 125 obstacles, a silvered BB-pellet to traverse the twists and turns from the ball, and flipping sphere for weaving around barriers. The most frustrating thing game can be when you're almost on the finish line and also the BB bounces from bounds -- leading you for the beginning again.

My story:

I'm a 36 years old mother of 3 small boys, ranging in age from 4 to 10; however, the 7 yr old is the most adroit. When I bought him a security clock for school, he took it apart and hang it back together -- just for fun and in the length of 2 hours. I was amazed, but he craves something more industrious. His father bought him the Perplexus Epic -- and also to no one's surprise, he completed the 1st epic maze in less than an hour. However, he's been implementing the second epic maze for near a week now, so I'm thinking this one is far more demanding. Plus, he seems content -- always smiling to himself while he weaves the little silver BB from the mazes.

It's become this type of part of him the 2009 week, that I've were required to ask him not to solve his puzzles at the dinner table. Since it's the summer, I haven't were required to worry over his homework, but I imagine this would have to be an after-homework activity when school starts back. His brothers watch him are employed in amazement; they've yet to get the opportunity to play and possess shown little curiosity about solving the puzzles for their own reasons.

What will be the Perplexus Epic?

From what I've seen, the Perplexus Epic is often a ball of mazes which can be flipped in a few directions so new challenges can look. We've heard about 3 different puzzles in the ball, but there are rumors of hidden mix-ups to unlock following your third is completed. I had a closer look at the Epic in the event the boys were sleeping, along with the whole set-up reminds me of something you'd see inside Labyrinth movie, or even an Escher painting. I've come to appreciate the educational valuation on the Perplexus Epic -- albeit, I know when my 7 year old solves this place, he'll be seeking another outlet for his flourishing creative genius.
