Kitchen Information

Our kitchen serves delicious meals each night from Monday Night through Saturday night of the burn. There will be vegetarian options each night as well as a selection of side dishes. You are required to bring your own cup, plate, eating utensils, napkins etc as you need to do for any food or drink related event at the burn.

Each member of our camp is required to put in at least one shift in the kitchen. More information on that will be coming soon, so please sign up as soon as that is available or else we will sign you up for a shift on our own.

If you want to eat, and not get tied up to a post to perform kultish rituals on, sign the fuck up!!! Each night is divided in two shifts. The first shift is 4-7, the prep work, cooking and serving. The second shift is from 7-9, the cleaning, sweeping, making it all look good again. If you hate cooking, clean. If you hate cleaning, cook. If you hate both, you're a curmudgeon who should be cleaning because at least then no one will be relying on you to take care of the food. Everyone knows how to clean.

Monday Night: Good Morning Black Rock City!

Bacon, Eggs, Home Fries, French toast and a cereal bar!

Cooks: This is pretty basic cooking, if you have never made eggs before, give scrambled eggs a whirl at home. You will basically be frying everything, because frying is tasty. If you have a spatula handy, bring it!

Tuesday Night: Pink Taco Tuesday

Carne Asada and cabbage tacos, Soyrizo and Sweet Potato tacos, Grilled corn, Mexican rice and Chips and Guacamole

Cooks: We're gonna be doing a lot of grilling and a lot of mashing. Never opened and cut and avocado before? Do it, and then eat the avocado with a little bit of salt. Mmmmmm. If you have sharp knives handy, bring them. If you like to mash stuff up with something in particular, bring that too!

Wednesday Night: American and Fat

BBQ ribs, hot dogs, veggie dogs, squash, eggplant and coleslaw

Cooks: This is good 'ol fashioned grilling at it's finest! If you have never grilled before, shame on you, go grill something. If you do not have a grill, find someone who does...and grill. Pretty much everything will be made on the grills except the coleslaw. You got tongs or grilling utensils? Bring them...

Thursday Night: Trailer Park Thanksgiving

Beer can chicken, Tofurkey, stuffing, Spinach Madeleine, Garlic mashed potatoes

Cooks: Happy Thanksgiving! Meat-eaters, have you ever cleaned and prepared a chicken? Try it. Veggies, have you ever made tofurkey? Do it, figure out how you like it best. I will admit to this being the most foreign "meat" to me. The sides will be mostly mashing and stirring. If you have extra wooden spoons, bring them!

Friday Night: British Invasion

Vegetarian curry, chicken skewers, rice, roti and some delicious sauces

Cooks: This is Boris' night, so be ready for mayhem. You will be grilling and stirring a lot. If you haven't used many spices before, experiment and see what spice does what...this will certainly help you on the flavor of the curry. Bring wooden spoons if you got em!

Saturday Night: On this, the day of your daughter's wedding...

Various pizzas, Shrimp scampi (noodles and shrimp on the side) and whatever else we want to cook on the last night.

Cooks: I need your creativity on this one. The cooking is going to be fairly The easy, just popping pizzas and shrimp on the grill and making noodles. The fun thing about this night is that we will be using as much leftover food as we can. So take a look at the whole menu, see if there's something there you would like to cook - maybe to throw on the pizza? We will need large spatulas for this, so if you have any (metal) bring them please, it will make getting pizzas on and off so much easier.
